The flames of the past
“Yes! We’re here! Finally, I hate buses!” I screamed excitedly stepping off the bus to Switzerland.(Yes. We get the bus there)
“Shut up Cara.” moaned Ashleigh sleepily.
“Come on Ashleigh! Lets go get the best room.”
“Fine. What ever. I wasn’t sleeping any way.” I dragged Ash off the bus and into reception.
“So which room are Cara King and Ashleigh Houston in?” I asked the receptionist as Ashleigh fell asleep on a chair.
“Yer in the lodge hean.” Said the receptionist. Great. We just left Scotland and this person was Glaswegian. Ah hell.
“Where is that? Hean.” I said in my best fake accent.
“All righ. T’s dan tha big ill. I’ll caw you a lifd.” (oh my god)
“Thanks” (now shut up)
“S’here” (AHHH) I dragged Ashleigh out and we jumped into a taxi.
“You know that one of the girls two years ago slept with one of the bar men and that’s why it’s junior priority this year because we aren’t that dumb” I told Ash
“Really”
“Yeah and loads of people were drunk and caught.”
“Once again we’re not that dumb. I mean being caught obviously” And we burst into a fit of giggles.
“We here. You go now.” Said the taxi driver in a strong Russian accent
“Da.” Ash and I replied and burst out laughing.
“You laugh now and dye later.”
“What ever.” Said Ash as she fell out of the car.
“Freak.” I muttered under my breath
We walked into the other reception.
“Hi welcome to the lodge I’m Stephanie but you can call me Steff.” Gushed an obviously American blond with a grin plastered on her face. “If there is any thing you want just phone me up from your room and I will be glad to get it for you. This place has just been refurbished because of the fire we had last week and when that person died.” She slapped her hand over her mouth “Sorry here’s you key.” She held out a blackened key.
“This key’s burned and we,” I gestured at Ash and myself, “are in the dead guy’s room aren’t we.”
“Yeah but it was a girl actually”
“Thought so…AWSOME!!!!! Come on Ash” she had gone pale “You all right?” I asked
“Just tired” She replied
Later on
“Night” I called to her
“Good night” she replied hoarsely. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I dreamt I was swimming and burning and choking and gasping. My eyes opened I was floating at first I thought I was still dreaming and I was going to awake soon then I felt the burning again, the pain consumed me, I screamed and screamed there was water everywhere it was boiling and as was on the ceiling. She smiled then fell and sank to the bottom and through the floor.
“ASH!” I shouted and I sank as well. I remember the police walking in and looking around saying that Ashleigh was lucky she survived but she died too she was standing next to me and someone who looked just like her was walking away to live her life in my best friends place and I have asked her about this and she replied that the burn victim had been her twin sister and that they had been separated by the age of 8 because Ash’s sister pushed her out of a tree house and sent her to the ER and they still kept contact, Melisa, the other one, had blamed Ash of her death before it happened and that was why they changed places. I was an unfortunate side affect, so I will ask you now are you at home? Are you on a laptop? Am I standing behind you? Well I’m coming back any way I can so you better hope I’m not!
